Tour Descriptions
Please consult the tour schedule to ensure the tour you wish to take is available on the date you plan to visit.
Self-guided Tours Self-guided tour maps are available for all visiting parties, included with general admission. You may tour the park at your leisure from open until close, and come and go from the park throughout the day for one low admission price during the summer season. Call (260) 636-7383 for availability of self-guided tours when general admission is not available (during the "off-season" months).
Staff-Guided Tours feature personal presentations, by our staff, of each animal species and exhibit, facts and stories, and when possible, up-close animal encounters. We highly recommend our Staff-Guided Tours for first-time visitors. Tours typically last about 90 minutes and are offered at 11 a.m and 3 p.m. daily during the summer season. Visitors with small children may want to drop in and out of staff-guided tours, or choose a self-guided tour.
Private Tours are available by appointment only when general admission is not offered. This tour includes access "behind the scenes" and is especially recommended for students ages 12 and up and adults. (Because this tour includes restricted areas of the park, it is NOT recommended for young children.) Maximum 20 people per tour. Subject to availability. Click here to reserve.
Feeding Tours featuring the opportunity to see the animals receive their meals during a guided tour, are temporarily unavailable. In the meantime your best chance to see the animals eat is during the morning hours, or during the 3 p.m. Staff-Guided tours when keepers may bring along food treats for selected animals. Formal Feeding Tours are expected to resume during the summer season 2008. Watch for details!
Educational Programs are designed specifically for schools, home schooled children, and other youth groups. Multiple, age-appropriate programs are offered and can be reserved any time year-round. Click here for program descriptions or to reserve. If you wish to discuss a specially-designed program to meet your specific needs, call (260) 636-7383. |
